Dialah sang King of Pop, Michael Jackson, yang karyanya akan menjadi legenda. Terbukti, hampir dua tahun setelah Jacko meninggal, salah satu lagunya yang diluncurkan dalam video klip terbarunya, tetap digemari publik di seluruh dunia. Popularitas Jacko terlihat dari antusiasme publik menyambut perilisan video klip lagu berjudul Hollywood Tonight pada Jumat (11/3). Bahkan sejak dirilis dan bisa didownload lewat YouTube, Hollywood Tonight menjadi Trending Topic (TT) pada jejaring sosial Twitter.
Walau tanpa sang mendiang dalam video klipnya, pencitraan visual lagu ini cukup menarik, menyentuh, dan sangat terasa jika Jacko ‘hadir’ di dalamnya, salah satunya adalah dengan semangatnya. Klip ini bercerita tentang seorang gadis muda yang berusaha masuk ke industri Hollywood dengan menjadi penari profesional. “Cerita gadis ini mewakili perjuangan setiap seniman atau musisi yang berusaha menggenggam dunia,” jelas Sony Music tentang video ini.
Klip ini dibuat bulan lalu di sisi Pantages Theatre di Hollywood, dan kabarnya akan segera berlanjut untuk video klip lagu MJ yang lain. Sofia Boutella dipercaya menjadi pemeran sang penari muda, dan diarahkan dengan cemerlang oleh sutradara Wayne Isham. Hollywood Tonight sendiri diproduseri oleh Teddy Riley dan diambil dari album resmi pertama Michael setelah meninggal berjudul Michael. Album ini sudah diedarkan secara luas sejak Desember lalu.
